Welcome, Homeschool Families!
Teaching science at home can be an opportunity to discover and learn together. You don't need to have every answer before you begin. Clear explanations, useful resources, and a willingness to ask questions can help you guide your student with confidence.
Mr. E Science brings nearly 30 years of classroom teaching experience to Earth, Life, and Physical Science. These materials are intended for junior-high through high-school learners and can help you explain a difficult topic, build a series of lessons, or add observation and hands-on activities to your current studies.
Explore the Resources
Choose a subject below to find lecture videos, notes, worksheets, and lab activities. Videos can be paused and replayed, giving students time to take notes, review unfamiliar ideas, and work at a comfortable pace.
Dissection resources generally target high-school biology. Guides, videos, and photographs help students prepare for a dissection and review structures afterward. Families can also use the videos and photographs for an observational lesson when a hands-on dissection is not practical.
A Simple Way to Begin
- Choose a topic that fits your student's studies and readiness.
- Preview the lesson and any accompanying materials.
- Have your student watch the video and take notes.
- Discuss the main ideas and use the available questions or worksheets to check understanding.
- Add a suitable activity or lab, then ask your student to explain what was observed and learned.
You can adjust the pace, revisit a concept, or spend more time on a topic that sparks curiosity. These resources support your teaching; they do not require you to follow a fixed daily schedule.
Planning for Labs
Read the entire activity before beginning. Check the required supplies, equipment, safety directions, and level of supervision. Some activities use everyday materials; others require specialized equipment or specimens. Hands-on labs and dissections require appropriate adult supervision.
Additional Support Is Being Prepared
